The three choices

They will be arriving at my local opticians any time now. I've only tried the last pair on, they suited me, I've tried clear wayfarers on and they didn't suit me at all. So the middle pair is kind of a middle ground between the 2 others. I wanted something abit different to regular run of the mill glasses, so hopefully one of these will actually work for me. I'm excited though, I'm so bored of my last NHS cheapo pair.

Burberry at 444 Madison Avenue

28th May has been declared "Burberry Day" in New York by Mayor Bloomberg.

"The proclamation, by New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg, is in honour of the continued investment and commitment Burberry makes to New York and the US and coincides with the official lighting of the Burberry logo on the rooftop of the new Burberry Americas headquarters at 444 Madison Avenue. The site at 444 Madison Avenue is one of only six grand fathered signage locations in New York.

The fifty foot long Burberry logos will be lit across the iconic Manhattan skyline for the first time this Thursday evening, during an event to celebrate the occasion being hosted by Burberry Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts and Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey for over 300 guests.

To further celebrate Burberry Day, 20% of all purchases made in Burberry New York stores at 57th Street and Spring Street in SoHo on the day will be donated to The Burberry Foundation."

Pins for pins sake

These are just brilliant and what a great idea. By Band of Outsiders for Sperry. I bought some navy boat shoes from *cough cough* River Island yesterday, to added to my collection (I also have some Kurt Geiger bright green ones and some ASOS brown ones). I'l be going down to the local haberdashery later on this week to pick up some safety pins to try this idea out for myself.

Here's just a few of the looks I will be trying my best to recreate this coming Autumn. I would love to get my hands of a subtly acid washed Denim jacket to wear underneath a smart coat, a pair of die-dyed trousers, and a pair of tailored trousers made from a more relaxed fabric like a heavy jersey. So from here on I am on the lookout for my Autumn wardrobe. I know it's open May but I've got to get ahead of the game, doesn't hurt to get a head start. Has anyone else started to look for theirs? I know Steve at Style Salvage is always planning it, as soon as the sun comes out he does a post on what he will be wearing next season!

My new favourite blogs

"It's not the clothes, it's the people that wear them"

Streetstyle Aesthetic - Wayne Tippetts Photography is one of the best street photography blogs I've seen in a long time. Everyone must check it out, it's so fresh and stylish compared to a lot of the dull and uniformed ones out there at the moment. Consider Streetstyle Aesthetic my new favourite.

Others on the blog roll right now:

The Unknown Hipster - Street style sketches in the finest form
Oh Happy Days - All things inspiring and amazing in day to day life (Thanks to Hollie for this one)
Backyard Bill - Features stylish folk in there own clothes, mini spontaneous photo shoots and interviews (Thanks Clare)
Fashion Bits and Bobs - By Pascal from Switzerland. About his classic take on modern fashion and day to day life, found this one through LookBook.

I would pretty much love to work for a trend/trend prediction company. Ever since we did a trend prediction brief in my first year at uni I have looked at everything with different eyes. I knew people could be inspired by anything and everything but this has made me think more about what seem like boring and ordinary object or places. Call me obsessed.

The images about are from WGSN, one of the largest trend analysis/prediction/research companies in the world. If your a student you can access their education mini site but for everyone else its pretty darn expensive.

This image was recently featured on the BBC website:

"A design student made a battered old Skoda "disappear" by painting it to merge with the surrounding car park. Sara Watson, who is studying drawing at the University of Central Lancashire (Uclan), took three weeks to transform the car's appearance."

I'm going to have to go look for this when I'm next in uni as this is where I go. I just love it. Well done Sara Watson, you are abit ace.
